Tuolumne Meadows
A Higher Perspective
Tuolumne Meadows offers a different way to experience Yosemite, with wide-open landscapes shaped by granite, water, and sky. Set along Tioga Road, this high-country destination is typically accessible from late spring through late fall and invites you to take in a quieter side of the park. Wander among ancient sequoias, discover new perspectives of familiar landmarks, and pause along alpine lakes that reflect it all back to you. As you plan your visit, be sure to fuel up in advance—there are no gas stations along Tioga Road.
Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias
Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias offers a peaceful, less-traveled way to experience Yosemite’s iconic giant sequoia trees. Reached by a moderate hike, this small grove features towering ancient trees and a more secluded setting than the larger Mariposa Grove.
Olmstead Point
From Olmsted Point, the familiar becomes something entirely new. Set along Tioga Road, this eastward vantage point frames Half Dome in a way few places can—reshaping its silhouette and inviting you to see Yosemite from a different perspective.
Tenaya Lake
Tenaya Lake is the largest lake in Yosemite National Park and arguably one of its most scenic. Located along Tioga Road, its clear blue waters sit at the base of striking granite domes. The lake is named for Chief Tenaya of the Ahwahneechee people and is an important part of the region’s history.
Tuolumne Meadows
Set at 8,575 feet, Tuolumne Meadows unfolds as a vast subalpine landscape shaped by granite, water, and sky. As the largest meadow of its kind in the Sierra Nevada, it offers sweeping views of surrounding peaks and domes, with the Tuolumne River weaving gently through its center.
