Hop on a mountain bike or electronic bike and hit the numerous trails in the region. Rentals are offered on property with area maps available from the concierge. Leaving right from Tenaya? Jenny Car Railroad Excursion Off-Site One of the most unique ways to explore Yosemite is via a vintage Model A “Jenny” railcar. Learn about the plants and animals of the area and open your senses to nature. Your guide will take you through about 1.5 miles of forest trails, leaving directly from the hotel – no need for a car! This is a relatively easy walk accessible to a wide range of walkers. This is a great way to learn about the plants and animals in and near Yosemite.
Big Trees Stables in Wawona Off-Site Explore Yosemite National Park with Wawona Stables’ popular horse and mule rides. The two-hour tour is a round trip from Wawona Stables to the Meadow Loop Trail, which passes by Wawona Dome, Wawona Hotel and more. Yosemite Skiing and Snowboarding Off Site Badger Pass is a winter sports destination on par with Yosemite’s giant sequoias. This is your location for downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and more. The beginner-friendly terrain park at Badger Pass features ten runs and backcountry skiing tours. Lessons are offered with equipment available to rent.
Tubing at Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area Off Site Please contact Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area for hours With its towering mountain terrain, Yosemite is a natural for snow tubing. Grab your family and friends and head to Badger Pass for an afternoon of tubing thrills. Less demanding than skiing or snowboarding, tubing is the kind of activity that most anyone can take on. Snowshoeing in the Sierra At Resort 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Beginning Winter 2023 Snowshoeing is an excellent way to explore the Sierra National Forest in winter. Rent a pair of snowshoes at Tenaya, put them on and trek out into an epic outdoor world. A great cardiovascular activity, there’s no better way to glimpse the frozen Yosemite. Tenaya at Yosemite has convenient snowshoe rentals for our guests just outside the main entrance. SUGGESTED SNOWSHOE WALKS Please note that these walks may or may not have snow depending on conditions at that elevation. Tenaya At Yosemite Nature Trail (elevation: 5,200 feet). A casual walk of a bit more than a mile through the forests around Tenaya at Yosemite. Jackson Road. Leave right from Tenaya at Yosemite and walk out Jackson Road (snowshoes generally not needed except soon after snowfalls) and pick a side trail through the woods. The horseback trails are nice and the Tenaya concierge can give you a map to the small waterfall about 2.5 miles away on a spur trail off Jackson Road. Goat Meadow (elevation: 5,200 feet; see Google Maps). Goat Meadow is a jumping off point for many miles of trail up to Mount Raymond, Biledo Meadow and even the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. The trails were once marked. A GPS is needed to find your way here. Mariposa Grove. When the road to the Mariposa Grove is closed due to snow, it makes for a moderate and very easy to follow track with few other visitors around. Dewey Point (elevation: 7,200 feet). An area classic. From the Badger Pass parking area, follow Glacier Point Road for about half a mile and then choose between the Dewey Ridge Trail or the Dewey Meadow Trail a bit further along. Trail maps available in the Nordic Center at the Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area (at Badger Bass).
Thrills on Sledding Hills At Resort 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Opening Winter 2023 At Tenaya at Yosemite, you don’t have to go far to find winter fun. In fact, you can rent sleds and use them right on property. Tenaya offers several open areas and slopes. Plus, the Goat Meadow Trailhead & Snow Play area is a prime sledding destination just minutes from the resort. Days: Dependent on weather conditions.
